Steel & Oak
Each commission begins with a conversation. You may already have a clear idea of what you would like, or simply a particular space that needs the right piece. Dan will work with you to explore the scale, form, materials and finish, developing a design that responds to both its setting and the way it will be experienced.
Working primarily with steel and oak, every piece is individually designed and made by hand. Dan can also work with landscape designers, architects and other professionals as part of a wider garden or outdoor project.
Discuss a Commission
Each commission begins with an initial conversation about your idea, the setting and what you would like the finished piece to achieve. There is no need to arrive with a completed design. An idea, feeling or particular space is often enough to begin developing something original.
If possible, please include photographs of the location, approximate measurements and your preferred timescale. Dan will then consider the scale, materials, practical requirements, delivery and installation before agreeing the design and cost with you.
